First Monday: What Is The Met Gala and Why It's In September This Year?

First Monday Y’all! Did you know that there is an annual gala called the Met Gala. Met Gala is a fundraising event typically held the first Monday in May in New York to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It’s also known as “Fashion’s Biggest Night Out”. So as a nod to my love of fashion, I put out a blog post on every first Monday.

This month’s post is in tribute to the Met Gala being moved to September this year in conjunction with New York Fashion Week. I thought I would have some fun with this look, as if I was going to pre-cocktails before the Met. The Met has a different theme this year. This years’s theme is, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.
